| Founded in 1994 by artist/educators Elana Gutmann and Daniele Robbiani, Make A Better Place (MABP) is an award-winning nonprofit organization that develops arts and learning programs for young people and provides training and curriculum for the professionals who serve them. Based on a belief in youth's abilities, MABP programs use photography and writing to help young people identify their concerns, communicate their ideas and help shape a better future for themselves and the communities in which they live. MABP activities develop essential communications skills, an awareness and appreciation for the arts, confidence, creativity and social awareness. | In addition to directing a variety of after school, in school, summer and outreach programs for youth, MABP serves educators, youth workers, parents and mentors nationally and internationally by providing professional training materials and outreach projects. Thousands of young people, organizations, educators and youth service professionals have participated in MABP's programs since they began in 1994. The many public exhibitions and publications that have resulted from MABP activities have enriched and inspired over 25,000 community members. | |||||||||||||||||
